ik heet nefertiti

Your name tells the world who you are. The picture book ‘Ik heet Nefertiti’ by Annemarie Anang is all about making your voice heard and staying true to yourself, even when it feels a little exciting and nerve-wracking.

Nefertiti is proud of her name. When the new music teacher shortens her name to 'Nef', she stops feeling like herself. While the band used to play so well together with Nefertiti on the drums, she now loses the beat and throws the whole band off rhythm. Then Nefertiti finds the strength to stand up for herself. Together with the other kids in the band, she shows the teacher how important it is to honor her name and pronounce it right.

Discover how Nefertiti and the other children come together to make wonderful music again. As a fun bonus, the back of the book lines up all the cool instruments played by the band members! Open the pages and let the band play on.
