toen rups een vlinder werd

The children's book 'Toen rups een vlinder werd' by Bette Westera and Naomi Tieman is a wonderful picture book filled with poems and stories about little garden critters.

Early one morning, while Caterpillar sits inside his little cocoon waiting to become a butterfly, he meets Mayfly. She has just started the first and last day of her life and has no time to wait along with him. Once he crawls out of his cocoon, Butterfly is eager to show Mayfly how beautiful he has become. Where did she go? Follow Butterfly on his search through the garden and meet Earwig, who wants a new name. Look at the world through the wondering eyes of Little Beetle, and join the Oak Processionary Caterpillars on a ticklish adventure. And when Glowworm turns off his little light, it is time for you to go to sleep too…
