The Highwaykick 1 from the Austrian brand Scoot and Ride is a clever 2-in-1 balance bike and scooter. You switch from balance bike to scooter and back again in no time, without needing any tools.

Feel like sitting down for a ride, or standing up to scoot? Little ones use the scooter as a balance bike during their first years. Once their motor skills improve, the balance bike flips into a kids' scooter in a flash. Simply pull the lever, fold the seat, and click the handlebar into place.

Riders steer the scooter by shifting their weight from left to right. This helps the scooter maneuver through turns safely and with plenty of stability, while developing a child's sense of balance.

The scooter features two large front wheels and a rear wheel with a foot brake for extra safety. Between the front wheels sits the patented Safety Pad, a rollover guard that keeps the scooter from tipping forward.
