prinsessen doen het anders

A fairy tale with a fresh twist. The picture book ‘Prinsessen doen het anders’ by Timothy Knapman centers on a main character who chooses her own path.

The Mail on Sunday puts it perfectly: ‘Imagine a fairy-tale world where princesses do not have to wait for a handsome prince to rescue them, and instead take matters into their own hands. That is the starting point of this lively story about Tilly, who has had enough of her role as a damsel in distress and decides to save herself.

With beautiful illustrations by Jenny Lovlie, Knapman challenges gender stereotypes and reminds children that they can do whatever they set their minds to.’ This picture book brings so much joy (unless you are an angry white man, in which case: tough luck). Open the pages and follow Tilly on her own terms!
