djeco language game emotico

Angry, happy, scared, or maybe proud? Understanding feelings, and putting them into words, takes practice. The 'Emotico' language game from the French brand Djeco helps children find their way through play.

Players draw a scenario card, look at the situation, and pick the matching facial expression from the 29 loose pieces. Eyes, mouth, eyebrows... Everything adjusts to recreate the exact feeling that fits the picture. The six emotions at the bottom of the board lend a helping hand: they are color-coded and match the feelings shown in the scenarios.

This is both a language game and a social game, because talking about what you see and feel is all part of the play. Players explore what the child on the card is feeling and whether they have ever felt that way themselves. Conversations spark naturally, helping kids understand and name their own emotions.

Great for at home, at school, or in daycare.
