djeco craft set blueprint paper

With this 'Cyanotypie' blueprint paper craft set from the French brand Djeco, children use the power of the sun to create beautiful, original works of art. What will they design first? This creative activity is based on the process of developing photos.

To create the special effect, chemical elements make the paper sensitive to light. Place fun objects like leaves, flowers, or cutouts flat on the paper. Cover it with a transparent sheet and place it in direct sunlight.

Here is where the magic begins! The parts of the paper exposed to sunlight turn blue, while the covered spots stay white. Take it out of the sun after 15-30 minutes. Remove the objects from the paper and rinse the sheet with cold water. This stops the chemical reaction and keeps the drawing visible.

Now let the paper dry thoroughly, and your blue-and-white artwork is complete!
