sinterklaas decorations

Create a cozy atmosphere on Sinterklaas Eve with decorations made especially for the good saint. That is a treat for Sinterklaas and his Pieten when they come tossing pepernoten and gifts, and just as wonderful to enjoy during the Sinterklaasjournaal and every evening when setting out a shoe. Sinterklaas is an age-old tradition to cherish and celebrate!

Give Sinterklaas and Piet an extra festive welcome!

Decorating the house for Sinterklaas and his Pieten makes them feel right at home during the celebration. A mix of Sinterklaas decorations for the interior sets the scene right away. Bring those famous Sinterklaas colors into the room. Red, white, and gold are part of the Sinterklaas DNA and easy to weave in with garlands or lovely cards to hang on the wall. Set the table with Sinterklaas cutlery too; pepernoten and other Sinterklaas treats look even tastier in special candy bowls or on plates with a Sinterklaas design. And don't forget to wrap the presents in matching Sinterklaas wrapping paper.

Want to make sure Sinterklaas doesn't pass the house by? Make your home inviting inside and out for Sinterklaas and his Pieten. Window stickers are a super fun way to do this. Place them neatly on the window yourself or let little hands go wild for original Sinterklaas decorations. That way, everyone passing by outside can see that Sinterklaas is warmly welcome.

Make your own Sinterklaas decorations

Buying Sinterklaas decorations is always an option, and getting creative together with children is just as much fun. At ilovespeelgoed.nl, we have a selection of activity books for coloring, painting, sticking, or even punch-out art, all themed around Sinterklaas. Carefully take the artwork out of the books and hang it up, or turn it into a Sinterklaas DIY project. Attach the creations to a long piece of string to make a homemade Sinterklaas garland. Making their own Sinterklaas decorations gets children right into the festive spirit, and together you can style everything just the way you like it.

The countdown to Sinterklaas Eve has begun, and the best way to keep track is with a countdown calendar. It makes waiting for Sinterklaas even more exciting and is a playful way to practice counting. After all, children love knowing the exact day Sinterklaas will arrive, whether it is the Sinterklaas parade, the night for shoe gifts, or the celebration at school. Those are wonderful moments to look forward to. For a truly cozy Sinterklaas celebration the ilovespeelgoed way, find our very own countdown calendar here.
