Bath books

Bathtime gets even more fun with a bath book in the tub! For children who love looking at pictures anytime and anywhere, waterproof bath books make wonderful baby toys. Even for little ones who aren't big fans of the tub, washing up turns into a lovely playtime moment. It helps them relax and eases any nervousness. Bathtime can also be a busy part of the day for parents, and playing and reading together strengthens the bond between parent and child. Our bath books feature playful illustrations to admire and flip through while soaking. Built specifically for the tub, these bath books handle water with ease. This bath toy can even tag along to the wading pool.

What makes a bath book suitable for the tub?

Bath books usually feature waterproof or water-resistant materials, so kids can use them while bathing or playing in the water without causing any damage. The most common material for a bath book is plastic, such as polypropylene, PVC, or EVA. These materials are also easy to clean, which is important for products that come into contact with water and get lots of use from children. You will also find books made of neoprene: an elastic fabric made from synthetic rubber.

A cheerful animal party in the tub

Nothing beats the cozy feeling of taking a bath with an animal friend. Most bath books star cheerful animals. For fans of the little goose Little Goose, there is a Little Dutch bath book. The characters from the Belgian brand Lilliputiens, such as Alice the fox and Marius the rhino, also go on all kinds of adventures. And then there is the Miffy-Miffy bath book for playing in the tub or under the shower. The illustrations feature bright colors and spark the imagination. Children make up their own stories and learn to recognize the colorful animals.

Magical baby books with color-changing magic

Some bath books bring a touch of magic to the tub. Above a certain temperature, the pictures change; they fill with color or hidden images suddenly appear. How cool is that! In the magical bath book by Janod, hidden little animals appear when you dip the pages underwater. These surprising children's books are great for taking into the bath or sprinkling with water at the table. Once the book dries, the colors and pictures vanish again. The books come in different themes and stories, such as:

• Ocean
• Dinosaurs
• Forest animals
• Jungle
• Pets

Bath books are fun and educational

Bath books bring relaxation and fun, and they also offer an educational aspect. They help develop language and cognitive skills, such as recognizing colors, shapes, and objects. On top of that, they spark children's imaginations and boost their interest in books and reading. The very youngest start with simple pictures to recognize shapes and colors. The next step is expanding their vocabulary, for instance by naming the animals found in the bath books. Things get even more challenging when the pages include words, letting toddlers take their first steps toward learning to read.

The best bath book for your little one

There are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a bath book for a little one. How do you pick the best bath book? Here are a few tips for choosing a great bath book from the ilovespeelgoed.nl collection:

• Material: go for sturdy, waterproof materials. Bath books need to withstand water, so it is important to pick one made from a material that handles water well. Plastic and neoprene are great options.
• Interests: pick a book with pictures that catch your child's interest. If the little one loves animals, go for a book filled with animals.
• Look for educational elements: bath books can include educational features like colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. Pick a book that matches the child's age and stage, so they can learn while they play.

How do you clean bath books?

Clean the book thoroughly after bathtime so no dirt or bacteria stay behind. The bath books at ilovespeelgoed.nl are made from plastic or neoprene and clean up easily. Rinse the book after bathtime with clean water and a little mild soap if needed. You can dry the plastic bath books with a cloth, while neoprene books can simply air dry. Store the bath toys in a dry spot, out of direct sunlight, and they will be fresh and ready for the next splash.
