Djeco puzzle 1 year: from knob puzzles to screw puzzles

Puzzles make fantastic toys for young toddlers. A Djeco puzzle for 1-year-olds suits little ones from age 1 and up. Puzzling is a lot of fun at this stage, and it also boosts hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, concentration, and reasoning. At this age, children do best with larger pieces, up to a maximum of 10 pieces. Think of the familiar, sturdy knob puzzles that little hands can easily grasp. Djeco also offers screw puzzles, where children twist the belly, legs, and head of different little animals together. And last but not least: the pop-up puzzles. Push a little figure down and watch it bounce right back up! That is sure to earn you a wonderful belly laugh.

Djeco puzzle 2 years: time for the first jigsaw puzzles!

Many toddlers start putting together their first jigsaw puzzles around age 2. That makes a Djeco puzzle for 2-year-olds a truly valuable toy. Just pick children's puzzles that match the little one's skill level and interests. Djeco makes wonderful puzzles for toddlers, like the Djeco puzzle duo sets where children match two pieces together. For instance, which baby animal belongs to which mom, or which opposites go hand in hand? Wooden block puzzles and shape puzzles also suit this age well, encouraging fine motor skills and shape recognition. Plus, wooden puzzles can take a bump or two, letting little ones play to their heart's content.

Djeco puzzle 3 years: plenty, more, most

From age 3, most toddlers are ready for a few more pieces. A Djeco puzzle for 3-year-olds usually features a higher piece count. Among the Djeco puzzles with 11 to 40 pieces, you will find plenty of favorites. Is the little one crazy about cars? Then a floor puzzle that builds a road is a great match. Once the road is finished, toy cars can zoom right across the puzzle track! A Djeco tangram or magnetic puzzle also makes a fun, challenging toy for this age. Imagination starts playing a bigger role now, and tangrams and magnetic puzzles spark the creativity needed to build unique creations.

Djeco puzzle 4 and 5 years: 'grown-up puzzling' begins

Around age 5, preschoolers start moving toward 'grown-up puzzling'. A Djeco puzzle for 4-year-olds and a Djeco puzzle for 5-year-olds brings more pieces to the table along with a higher level of complexity. Most kids who enjoy puzzling can tackle a puzzle with 40 to 100 pieces at this stage. A 100-piece Djeco puzzle is a great, fun challenge for this age, and preschoolers positively beam with pride the first time they finish such a big puzzle on their own. Another special treat for this age group is the Djeco silhouette puzzle. Instead of a traditional rectangle, the puzzle takes the shape of a figure, like a dragon puzzle shaped like a real fire-breathing dragon.

For the puzzle genius: a Djeco puzzle of 500 pieces or more

The fun doesn't stop at 100 pieces. Djeco offers plenty more pieces for true puzzle fanatics, including Djeco puzzles with 500 or 1000 pieces. True to Djeco style, the illustrations on these big puzzles boast an incredible color palette, making the finished puzzle a feast for the eyes. Frame the completed masterpiece to brighten up a bare wall in the kid's room. It becomes a real work of art, made with a little bit of Djeco and a lot of effort from the young puzzler.
